Day Programs

The Craigwiel Adult Day Programs serve the northern part of Middlesex County. This area includes the municipalities of North Middlesex, Middlesex Centre, Lucan-Biddulph, Strathroy as well as the Komoka-Kilworth area.

The Adult Day Programs consist of the Alzheimer’s and Special Needs Program on Mondays and Wednesday and the integrated program that runs Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The program runs from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. To access these services, contact the South West Community Care Access Centre by calling 310-CCAC (no area code is necessary).

hairdresserHair Care

A hairdressing shop is located within the nursing home. Staff book appointments for day program clients on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

pedicureFoot Care

The Adult Day Program offers foot care by a certified RPN to the clients. The RPN is qualified to care for both regular and diabetic clients. We offer a variety of treatments, both for those with mobility difficulties and for those who just want to feel pampered.

sonicbathSonic Baths

A sonic bath combines ultrasound vibrations with warm soothing water. Ultrasound means very high frequency sound, higher than can be detected by the human ear.

The warm bath water enhances the ultrasound treatment, so not only is the skin cleansed, it is also very relaxing. A Doctor’s permission slip is required before using the sonic device; this is to ensure the safe health of the client.

Birthdays

Here at the Adult Day Program, we think birthdays are a big deal. A monthly birthday party is planned to recognize and celebrate the lives of all our very special clients.

volunteerVolunteers

Our caring volunteers help with activities and events, as well as assisting with individual personal needs on a case-by-care basis. The one-on-one efforts of these wonderful people help create a special atmosphere, which enriches the lives of our clients.

Volunteer Drivers

Transportation to the Adult Day Program is provided through a volunteer driver network. Each driver is screened by Adult Day Program staff to ensure that valid license and insurance certificates are in place. Our volunteer drivers allow clients to view the charming village of Ailsa Craig and the beautiful surrounding countryside on their trips to and from the day program.

walksWalks

It is important that our clients keep active. The surrounding village and gardens provide a beautiful venue for morning and afternoon walks.

Snoezelen Room

Our Day Program has a fully equipped Snoezelen room on site.  It is space for our clients to enjoy either by relaxing or through sensory stimulation.
